25th May – Low Slung with Casino Times

Monday, May 20th, 2013

https://www.facebook.com/lowslungrecordings

BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT CAME DOWN TO THE WOLF PARTY, I CAN EASILY SAY THAT PROB THE BEST ONE WE’VE DONE, CAN WE TOP IT? WE CAN DAMN WELL TRY!!!

On Saturday 25th May Low Slung will be returning to one of East London’s hottest venues, Basing House to host the unofficial Field Day After Party. After the huge success of the Wolf Music Party in April with Medlar, KRL and the Wolf Music residents Low Slung are back with a whole host of special guests including artists from some of the most forward thinking and innovative labels around.

CASINO TIMES
Headlining the night they have secured the sounds of Casino Times, fresh from their massive release on Wolf Music they are set to bring an eclectic mix with their distinctive sound. Their rise to prominence has been nothing short of astounding and quickly gaining a reputation they have seen success with their residency at Corsica Studios commanding night ‘Tief’ where they have played alongside some of the biggest names such as Todd Terje, Omar S and Feel My Bicep.

As well as playing a recent spot at the legendary, Pacha Presents this month and making Mixmags ‘Stars of 2013’ Low Slung are pleased to have them topping the bill.

ZOO LOOK
Their well loved combination of deeply hypnotic house and disco are a instant dancefloor hit. Experimenting together the Bournemouth based trio draw upon those hard hitting deep house beats. Working on releases with Tenth Circle, Remote Colour Ltd and Join The Dots have led them to remix the likes of Ed Maddams on Remote Records and Toby Tobias. Their brand new EP ‘Over Me’ on Morris Audio has shown us a sound few can match – unique and raw this work displays some amazing atmospheric vocals, sax samples and lots of energy. With Dutch producers Detroit Swindle delivering a ridiculously awesome remix, this is an extremely efficient release.
Having put podcasts together for Defected Records and Berlin based clothing brand Simon & Me there is no stopping these guys. With forthcoming releases on Tsuba Ltd, Dirt Crew and Albion keep your eyes locked on one of the most hotly tipped new acts around.

SCCUCCI MANUCCI
Stepping up to bring the vibes is Sccucci Manucci who will be dropping the latest cutting edge deep house and disco beats as well as some back catalogue tracks. Dedicated purveyor of house music he has an underground music first approach. With a new generation of electronic music producers and DJs now bubbling to the surface of the UK scene, they welcome this house figurehead and label boss into the mix.

Heading up the fledgling disco and house imprint Sccucci Manucci from 2010, he has bought us moustache twistings releases from Waze & Odyssey, Deadly Sins, Toyboy & Robin to name but a few. Showcasing some of the brightest talent from all over the world, they consistently support new artists and provide them the platform to go on and achieve great things. With the launch of it’s sister label Manucci’s Mistress last November they have been fortunate to work with some talented producers spanning over both labels.

Playing across Europe to adoring electronic music heads, we are sure that his set will bring something special.

OSCAR BROWN
After playing out Low Slungs successful 2nd Birthday back in February Oscar Brown returns for another epic night. Head honcho of the Low Slung empire and the Strictly NO Techno party at The London Fields Pub in Hackney he is sure to lay down a set that brings you on a musical journey spinning a selection of his favourite tunes.

His roots stem in the soil of funk and soul and his taste has matured throughout the years, whilst dipping into the disco sound he now focuses more on the house vibes.

Wanting to bring his musical taste forward, he promotes quality music regardless of genre, highlighting his personal views he plays music that deserves to be heard.

His sound is constantly evolving, but as he passionately delves into his procured record collection expect to hear some forward thinking house music and a tickle of bass

LOZ
Completing this outstanding lineup their next guest is a DJ and producer who is destined for great things. LOZ comes from a musical background.
He has now taken a new musical direction and has gone on to produce some solid deep house cuts which will go on to firmly cement him as one of the most sort after artists.

Sharing the same studio with some of the hottest talent around right now, Waze & Odyssey and T.E.E.D. expect to be hearing a lot more from LOZ this year.

New House of Disco Vinyl Out Now

Tuesday, May 14th, 2013

For the 8th release in the House of Disco Stable we have recruited Norwegian deep house rising star ‘Finnebassen’. His track ‘Baby’ reworks an RnB vocal to perfection and creates a moody dancefloor killer, as per usual. On remix duties are Monitor 66 with their melodic take, Ron Basejam with his funky dancefloor ready edition and Debonair with his big atmospheric number.

18th May – Puppet Parade with Marc Ashken

Sunday, May 12th, 2013

After a little break and a regroup through the extended winter, the Puppet Parade is returning to the Basing House, a familiar haunt of ours on Saturday May 18th, an exceptional intimate venue that gives us the platform to showcase what we do.

Marc Ashken

Marc Ashken will be joining us on the night. Marc never fails to deliver and with many years of releasing and playing music, Marc is currently hitting a healthy vein of creative output.

Recent tracks have featured on DJ T’s compilation for Get Physical, an EP on murmur, a track on Matt Tolfrey’s 1Trax compilation and the huge Catwalk EP featuring SOS on the inimitable Classic Music Company are cementing his stature.

Marc has quality and has shown an ability to recreate himself without losing the tripped out sleazy funk that has in turn given him the longevity so many desire.

Canary Fontaine

Ollie Silva, AKA Canary Fontaine, has begun to spread his wings. Having recently finished scoring his second documentary, Ollie will be focused to bring his individual swing to the proceedings. A residency at Jaded continues and performances at the key clubs to include Fabric and Renate in Berlin alongside Zippy show his pedigree. He has always stood out for his maverick approach and continues work tirelessly building a body of music that simply is different, exceptional and contagious.

Zippy

Releases that have gathered support from a wide variety of leading tastemakers of the underground on the lauded labels Thema and Serialism, have offered the opportunity to Eddie Smith AKA Zippy to find a platform to develop his craft as a DJ. Continually developing and refining his technique, whilst looking to play music that is interesting, unique and blurs the boundaries between house, techno with elements of disco, dub and jazz, Zippy completes the rosta.

A heads up that we will be bringing the Puppet Parade to the Notting Hill Carnival again this August. We are lining up 2 days and following the success over the years, we are looking to raise the bar again and showcase our sound and spirit at Europe’s biggest street party.
